Visitors are welcome, and we always appreciate donations of memories, photos, or objects to grow our archive.
“Old buildings – their wonkiness and the narrative they weave. The romance of the past mixed with the hope of the future.”

History of the building
Millport is quoted as being the most accessible of all the Scottish Islands.
Built in 1894 this Victorian building, named Millport Town Hall, holds within it a wealth of memories and enjoys a central position in a magnificent natural setting. When it closed in 2016, the community and its visitors lost a heritage building which held many memories of use for gatherings, parties, being a cinema and more importantly, a place where everyone could congregate together.
Over the next seven and a half years, the Millport Town Hall Charity was formed by the community and with extensive fundraising the building was regenerated into a fully accessible venue, capable of concurrent multi-use.
The journey was bumpy with complications of Covid, Brexit, weather, and ferry issues. The community maintained its fundraising efforts throughout, and as the building began to come to life again it became clear that Millport Town Hall Charity could deliver social and economic benefits for everyone with its fully accessible and all-inclusive opportunities being developed.
